Take a deep breath.

The world around us is currently navigating a huge shift with the rise and spread of COVID-19. While this is a time to start implementing social distancing and protecting the vulnerable in our society – the most important thing we can do right now is take a deep breath and support one another. 

While social distancing will help to prevent the spread of the virus it will place limitations on travel, work, income – life as usual. Our financial landscape is changing and access to supplies are becoming strained. It truly is a time of uncertainty for everyone.

With uncertainty and change comes stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances and depression. Reducing and managing our stress at this time is paramount, and standing guard of our minds at this time is of upmost importance. Stress depletes our immunity and causes an inflammation cascade in our body causing ‘dis-ease’ in the body and the mind. 

There are a few key compounds from the 1500mg CBD, Turmeric + Ginger which can really help to reduce inflammation while build and maintain a robust and resilient immune system, as well as nourish the nervous system bring peace and calm at a time of turmoil.

See below for a highlight of these traditional and modern hero herbs that have been paired with THC free CBD to regulate sleep, reduce inflammation and pain management:

  • The curcuminoids (from turmeric, Curcuma longa) and gingerols and shogaols (from ginger, Zingiber officinale, are polyphenolic compounds which are highly regarded in both Ayuvedic and Western herbal traditions (1).
  • The most famous of the curcuminoids is curcumin which has been studied extensively and demonstrates pronounced antioxidant, antimutagenic, antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory actions (2,3). This will help maintain energy levels, manage sleep quality and clear exogenous toxins from the body.
  • Curcumin is a neuroprotective, which helps prevent damage to the brain and improves the function of the nervous system helping us to adapt to, and manage our stress levels (5).
  • Stress is one of the biggest contributors to inflammation in the human body, gingerols and shogaols share curcumin’s anti-inflammatory properties which is why ginger and turmeric work so well synergistically in formulas against inflammation. 
  • Gingerols are what give Z. officinale it’s pungent flavour, making it a wonderful calming herb for the gut and also what gives this herb its ability to build the bodies defence, aiding in the recovery against acute infections, managing and reducing fever, flushing out the common colds, and supporting respiratory conditions such as acute or chronic bronchitis and asthma (1).
  • Gingerols and shogaols are powerful antioxidant scavengers and a circulatory stimulant, cleaning up damage and debris throughout the system and moving stagnant or toxic waste through the blood stream, thus maintaining a healthy operating system (6).

Let’s keep in mind, natural medicine is a preventive measure and, at time of publication, there is no treatment protocol on how to treat this virus.
